About PetHome
PetHome.co.uk is the newest member of a family of pet classified sites that began with PetHome Bulgaria — one of the longest-running pet marketplaces in Europe — and grew to include a sister site in the United States. The UK site is built from scratch for one purpose: connecting pets with the right homes, safely.
Classified sites earned a mixed reputation in the pet world, and the criticism was often deserved. Our answer is to build the rules into the product: adverts follow the Pet Advertising Advisory Group standards, licensed breeders display their licence details, dogs and cats must be declared microchipped, and every listing carries a report button that a human actually reads.
We're currently pre-launch: browsing works today, and accounts, posting and messaging are on the way.
Welfare before volume
We would rather host fewer adverts than host the wrong ones. PAAG standards are our floor, not our ceiling.
Honest by design
Licence numbers on show, microchip status declared, sellers labelled for what they are — private, breeder or rescue.
